This model is of a typical Midland Railway signal box found at junctions or in areas of a more complicated layout. In this case the box is based on that found at Swadlingcote Junction.
Whilst the windows are etched brass, everything else you see, including the walkways (using real wood), railings and steps etc are hand made. The roof is removable to allow addition of a detailed interior.
Owing to the fact that the buyer may want this as a 'shelf model' it is left unweathered. Weathering can be completed by arrangement.
The footprint of the model is approximately 24.5cm x 10cm (including stairs). The model is available on a commission basis.

The Midland Railway adopted a standard design based around panel sizes of 10', 12', 12' 10" and 15', although window sizes and door arrangements varied. The panels were fabricated off site and erected on a prepared base - the record is said to be 85 minutes!
To that end, the design of my Midland boxes can be of course altered to suit.
